I built this house. When done, structural changes had been made which added significantly to the square footage. There is only one house larger in Candlewood.
The living room/dining room is massive with ivory tile floor and 8-foot sliders which open to the patio and in-ground, heated spa. The room is showered in natural sunlight. All windows and sliders in the home are covered in hurricane-protection film, and the windows/sliders have survived all major hurricanes over the years with no breakage. All window-sills are either granite or marble. The roof, due to Hurricane Wilma, was replaced in 2005.
The kitchen is fully custom, with maple cabinets and pull-out drawers, and includes 1.5” “yellow-river” granite countertops, with a black, cast-iron sink. The double ovens are Bosch, one with convection function. Also included is a convenient microwave drawer with electric cooktop, covered by an Italian- made, custom hood. The dishwasher “drawers” are Fischer-Paykel and there is also a large warming drawer. Also featured is a trash compactor and “insta-hot” water dispenser. The pantry is large, with double doors and pull-out shelves. There’s also plenty of room for a table and chairs in the eat-in kitchen, And the washer and dryer are incased behind folding doors within the kitchen (structural change).
The bar, outside the kitchen and at the back of the living room, is made of copper with a heavy granite top and copper bar sink and faucet. The bar includes a wine cooler and a refrigerator. The back of the bar is mirrored.
The third bedroom, adjacent to the living room, has a built-in, natural cherry cabinet workspace with granite top. It can double as an office or family room.
The second bedroom was designed to be en suite, with doors to give family members or visiting guests, privacy. This bedroom, which is large (due to structural change), can easily accommodate a king bed or twins. There is a good-size closet and the floors are hardwood.
The bathroom, which is adjacent and completely redone, is travertine top-to-bottom, with new toilet, and onyx sink and cabinet with granite countertop, bathtub and shower. It is stunning.
The spacious master bedroom opens onto the patio with 8-foot glass sliders that run from one side of the room to the other (structural change), and has impressive golf-course and lake views. The floors are hardwood.
The custom master-bath is marble. The large vanity with double sinks and in-wall faucets is covered with suede-finish granite. The cabinets “float” with under-lighting. The large mirror that covers the vanity was hand-made, with in-frame lighting. There is a “spa” tub, and new toilet and bidet. The shower has a rain head with “body” jets.
The custom master closet has plenty of closet and hanging space, shoe shelves, and drawers—and is accented by track lighting.
Now for the view! This golf-course lot was a “premium”, costing an additional $30K over the home’s purchase price. It looks out onto a small lake and golf-course green. It is serene and beautiful. But the best part of the view? it’s unobstructed. There are no homes on the other side of the fairway. Candlewood is the only village in Boca Golf and Tennis designed with this in mind.
The patio contains an in-ground spa which is heated.
Other than the 2-car garage, which needs no explanation—that’s about it.
